The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Andy Williams says the most wonderful time of the year is Christmas, and while he's certainly not far from the truth, for me the most wonderful time of the year has always been autumn. The weather changes, the farmers bring in their yummiest fruits and vegetables and both of those mean I get to spend more time in the kitchen baking up delicious treats. Then there's Halloween and Thanksgiving, more time in my favorite place: the kitchen!

So while Andy Williams had the right idea, I sometimes think he was a couple months off. Sure, snow looks nice when you're tucked inside the house with your fuzzy slippers and sweater and no one has to go anywhere, but I'll definitely take the cool off over the freeze-to-death any day!

I've already been spending a lot of time in the kitchen, baking lots of treats and today I've got two big loaves of zucchini bread in the oven and enough batter left over to make a dozen zucchini muffins with chocolate chips and raisins just for me. I have one in the house who abhors anything chocolate, (I know, he must be from outer space!!) and one who thinks raisins came from his brother's home planet. Ah well! More for me!!

I'm also working a lot on my Sutter School series. The second book, The Pauper's Prince, (look at that sexy cover in the sidebar!,) will be out very soon, but in the meantime if you haven't already, I hope you'll check out King of the Queens.

And if you follow me after the jump, I'll post a short sample for you to check out and a delicious picture to launch you into your weekend.

My First eBook!!

I am so excited about this. I never thought in a million years that I would ever actually be brave enough to let my writing see the light of day, but it's really bright in here even if it is raining outside!

My very first eBook, The Sutter School for Boys: King of the Queens, is now available and it's only $2.99!

Welcome to the Sutter School for Boys, an elite private school that provides almost no opportunity for coed socialization. Eight months out of the year, the boys of Sutter live on campus with no one but each other to entertain them.

When Zack Milton's best friend Dane Reese stands up to the school bully, Kirk, at breakfast, everyone knows it's going to end badly. No one is more shocked than Zack to find himself trapped in a bathroom stall, a silent witness to one of the most shocking situations he's ever seen. Kirk and his guys are about to gang up on Dane, and they're planning to do more than just kick his ass.

Zack can't believe what he's seeing, can't believe that his best friend is just going to stand there and let the school bullies violate him, but what's even more confusing is how much it turns Zack on seeing two guys go at it. He knows he's not gay; he likes girls a lot, but in the silent, guilty aftermath of what he's witnessed, he can't deny the most intense orgasm he's ever known. Before he confronts Dane and confesses what he saw, Zack needs to figure out why Dane didn't fight back.

Will discovering Dane's darkest secret change the way Zack sees his best friend forever? And how will he ever come to terms with his own mixed emotions now that he's had a glimpse at the temptation of forbidden fruit?

The Sutter School for Boys: King of the Queens contains graphic sexual situations that may not be suitable for some readers. All characters portrayed in this story are eighteen years of age or older.

If emotionally charged male/male erotica is your thing, check it out! You can find it on Amazon, Amazon UK, Amazon Germany, Barnes and Noble, All Romance eBooks, Book Strand and Smashwords.

And stay tuned for details about the second book in the series, which is coming soon from Sweet Nothings.

When All You Wanna Do is Write

I have kids, and I love being a mommy. I love waking up in the morning to their happy faces, sitting down with them at the breakfast table and planning out all the fun things the three of us can do together while Daddy is at work. We do crafts and bake cookies and cakes together, we go to the park and meet up with friends for morning play dates. Every single day is jam-packed with a buzz of constant activity, and sometimes that makes it really hard to find time to sit down and write when inspiration strikes.

I can't exactly stop everything I'm doing when one of my talkative characters starts whispering in my ear while I'm chasing kids around the monkey bars. Sometimes those fleeting moments of inspiration disappear before I even get a chance to jot the idea down on a slip of paper for later reference, but I wouldn't give that precious time with my kids up for anything.

These are the most amazing years, watching your babies grow and learn, and I don't want to take a single moment for granted.

On the other hand, sometimes that urge to write is just so overpowering that there's a part of me inside that wishes I could clone myself just so I could do it all.

Does anyone else go through this? How do you handle juggling your career, whether it be as a writer or in another field, with your family life without feeling like you're doing some part of yourself a grave injustice?

Right now I'm relishing in the silent house, listening to the kitties chase each other around the kitchen. My boys are napping soundly and for the first time all day I have a moment to myself. I should be writing; I know that, but right now I'm just happy to have a chance to sit down, relax and listen to those chattering characters all bartering for a moment in the spotlight.

Ooh, and for those who appreciate the beauty of m/m eroticism, this is my inspirational picture of the day:

I'm New at This...

I've never kept a blog before. Truth is, I tend to be a little busy chasing small children and writing naughty stories in the dark, but when I started talking to my friend Kelly Haven about putting some of my stories out for the world to read through Sweet Nothings, she recommended sitting down and starting a blog. What on earth would I talk about? I asked her. I think she laughed at me a little because I've known Kelly long enough that she knows it's near impossible for me to keep quiet.

I love to talk. I love to write. I love to read. I love my boys naughty. I love to cook and I love to eat... If that's not fodder enough for the occasional blog post, well, I don't know what else there is to talk about. Either way, I'll do my best to entertain you.

So a little bit about me to invite you into my world. I'm a happily married wife and mother of two small boys. I've been writing since I was old enough to form coherent sentences and my dirty fantasies tend to be a little twisted. I've always had a thing for male/male intimacy, be it consensual or even slightly forced. There's just something about two men who aren't afraid to explore their sexuality together that really excites me. Even if I just see two guys kissing... whew! Don't even get me started!

My very first story, The Sutter School for Boys: King of the Queens, will be published by Sweet Nothings very soon. We've all heard the gritty stories about the naughty things that go on behind closed doors in boarding school, and that's what The Sutter School for Boys series will explore in-depth. Bad boys doing really bad things. If that's what you're into, I hope you'll check back when the story goes live. Hopefully that will be in the next few days. I'll keep you posted.

For now, it's nice to meet you! I'll be sharing all kinds of things here on my blog. Like samples from my stories, chatter about books I'm reading or shows I'm watching and of course, from time to time I'll even share my favorite recipes!
